The William Osler Health System is one of the country’s largest community health care systems, serving a diverse and growing population. The Health System comprises of three integrated hospitals: Brampton Civic Hospital, Etobicoke General Hospital and the Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness.
BAPS Charities showed their support for the incredible work taking place at the William Osler Health System Foundation by making a donation to complete its commitment of $100,000.
Dr. Naveed Mohammad, President and CEO of the William Osler Health System, sent a special message of appreciation saying, “BAPS Charities Canada has an incredible legacy of support and your commitment to many causes is seen first hand every day in the communities in which we live and work. Your generosity has also touched the hearts and minds of our health care workers. In our community, a comprehensive cancer care centre is a priority. However, we can’t achieve this vision alone. Enhancing the care we provide to our patients depends on our friends and partners, such as BAPS, and our goal is that with your help, this centre will become a reality. Thank you on behalf of Osler.”
To help those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, over the past year, BAPS Charities Canada has supported communities in 57 cities across the country by donating PPE to hospitals, distributing care packages, donating to food banks, making phone calls of support, educating people through webinars and other initiatives. BAPS Charities Canada also hosted a vaccine clinic that vaccinated over 21,000 Canadians. In addition, BAPS Charities organizes an annual walkathon in cities across Canada to support local and regional beneficiaries. BAPS Charities also supported relief initiatives in India in non-clinical areas assisting victims and their families affected by the pandemic through its affiliated centers and hospitals.
BAPS Charities also made donations to support the Victoria General Hospital Foundation in Winnipeg, the CNIB Foundation and the Scarborough Health Network Foundation.
