Diabetes is a disease in which blood glucose levels are above normal. Diabetes is one of the costliest diseases and it brings acute and chronic complications with it. Diabetes can cause serious health complications including heart disease, blindness, kidney failure, and lower-extremity amputations. According to CDC, diabetes is the seventh leading cause of death in the United States.
In order to bring about awareness on this important topic, BAPS Charities hosted a health lecture on October 12, 2014 in Toronto, Ontario. BAPS Charities volunteers presented the health lecture explaining how lifestyle changes can help prevent or delay diabetes.
