Rapid antigen testing kits are a crucial component in containing the spread of the COVID-19 variants. These easy-to-use tests detect certain proteins in the virus to confirm the presence of COVID-19. Results from these tests can be available in as little as 15 minutes.
With the increase in demand for quick, reliable, and available COVID-19 tests, BAPS Charities partnered with the Government of Ontario to help bridge the testing gap and meet local community needs in the Province of Ontario.
Between February and May 2022, BAPS Charities delivered over 14,000 Rapid COVID-19 tests to families across Ontario. The tests were delivered door to door to vulnerable families, with each family receiving a kit containing five tests.
“We sincerely thank the Government of Ontario to support thousands of families in Ontario with Covid-19 test kits during this crucial time in the pandemic when early detection can stop the spread of the disease”, said Yogesh Patel, President of BAPS Charities, Canada. “We appreciate our volunteers who took the time and effort to distribute the kits to communities across the province on a timely basis.”
