BAPS Charities, Canada has made a donation of $30,000 to UNICEF for Nepal Earthquake Relief. The funds were collected through the generosity of people across Canada to help the victims of the recent devastating earthquakes in Nepal. BAPS Charities has experience in supporting disaster relief services, having supported the Japan Earthquake Relief and Haiti Earthquake Relief in the past.
Mr. Jason Kenney, former Minister of National Defence and Minister for Multiculturalism, appreciated the efforts of BAPS Charities volunteers to help the victims of the Nepal earthquake saying, “Thank you for your extraordinary generosity.”
In addition to disaster relief, BAPS Charities also hosts health fairs, health awareness lectures, Children’s health and safety programs, bone marrow registry drives and much more. Recently, BAPS Charities presented a cheque for $5,000 to the Scarborough General Hospital Foundation and $100,000 to the Sick Kids Foundation in Toronto. It has also pledged $100,000 the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation for research into personalized cancer care. BAPS Charities sincerely serves the community, by improving the quality of life of individuals and families.
His Worship John Tory, Mayor of the City of Toronto, met with the youth volunteers of BAPS Charities appreciated their efforts saying, “Thank you very much for setting an example for all the people who live in Toronto of how we can care for each other here and also care for people around the world.”
