BAPS Charities organized a food drive in Brampton, ON, and donated more than 3,300 pounds of non-perishable food items to the Knights Table Food Bank on January 9, 2024.
The escalating costs of essential commodities such as food, fuel, accommodation, and transportation have placed a significant burden on many individuals and families, particularly children, single mothers, international students, and seniors. Regrettably, many find themselves in the distressing situation of having insufficient funds to provide for even the most basic necessity—food.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, BAPS Charities, in the spirit of service, organized food drives to support local food banks.
“Thank you, BAPS (Charities), for supporting our most vulnerable during a period of increased food insecurity,” said Mayor Patrick Brown, City of Brampton. “BAPS Charities always shows so much love towards our community.”
Similar food drives were organized by BAPS Charities in over 13 cities across Canada, collectively donating over 10,000 lbs. of food.
BAPS Charities is committed to serving society and communities in diverse fields such as medical, environmental, community, educational, and humanitarian services.
