Over 4,000 international students and youth from various colleges and universities across Canada, attended the BAPS Charities 10th annual Youth Webinar on May 8, 2021. The webinar was held in the presence of Honourable Marco E. L. Mendicino, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship. The COVID-19 pandemic has been a difficult time for all. For younger generations, many are adjusting to online school and work, and are also trying to find new ways to socialize and network.
During these challenging times, BAPS Charities has continued to support youth by hosting leaders from various backgrounds to speak on relevant topics through a series of virtual events and webinars.
The BAPS Charities Seniors Volunteer Wing arranges prominent guests from various industries to support and mentor youth. These interactive sessions provide a unique platform for today’s youth to connect, network and ask questions to prominent figures in their respective fields.
The students also participated in a Q&A session with the Minister where they had an opportunity to ask questions about their specific areas of immigration.
After the event, Honourable Marco E. L. Mendicino tweeted, “International students are important to Canada: they make ideal immigrants, are well-established, have the education and skills they need to succeed and are hard at work in some of the most essential parts of our economy. Thanks @BAPSCharities for having me at the Annual Youth webinar.”
BAPS Charities continues to organize regular activities to engage youth and help them stay connected through virtual seminars and networking sessions on a variety of topics.
