On June 29, 2024, BAPS Charities held its annual “In The Joy Of Others: Walk-Run” in Scarborough, Ontario. The event supported the crucial work of two national beneficiaries: the William Osler Health System Foundation and the CNIB Foundation, which supports individuals affected by blindness.
This year, the walk attracted over 500 participants, including notable figures such as Salma Zahid, Member of Parliament; Vijay Thanigasalam, Associate Minister of Housing and Member of the Provincial Parliament; David Smith, Aris Babikian, and Parthi Kandavel, all Members of the Provincial Parliament and a Councilor from the City of Toronto, respectively. Participants, ranging from youth to seniors, came together to raise awareness and funds for health initiatives and other charitable activities coordinated by BAPS Charities.
The William Osler Health System, one of the country’s largest community healthcare systems, includes Brampton Civic Hospital, Etobicoke General Hospital, and the Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness.
The event not only promoted a healthier lifestyle among participants but also highlighted the powerful impact of community efforts in meeting local health needs and challenges.
