On August 12, 2018, BAPS Charities hosted Walk Green 2018 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada with over 135 participants in attendance. In the true spirit of community service, this year’s walkathon supported the environmental initiatives of BAPS Charities as well as William Osler Health System Foundation (Brampton Civic Hospital, Etobicoke General Hospital and Peel Memorial Centre).
Across North America, 2018 marks the third year that the annual BAPS Charities walkathon will help protect the environment. BAPS Charities North America contributed towards the planting of 130,000 trees to The Nature Conservancy to support their initiative to plant a billion trees globally by 2025.
BAPS Charities uses these opportunities to instill a spirit of service and commitment to preservation and environmental responsibility in community members. Events such as this help instill consciousness in community members surrounding their actions, and, in turn, helps inspire global harmony with nature.
