On August 11, 2024, BAPS Charities hosted its annual “In The Joy Of Others: Walk-Run” event in Edmonton, Alberta. The event supported the lifesaving work of two national beneficiaries: the William Osler Health System Foundation and the CNIB Foundation.
This year’s walk attracted over 400 participants from the community, including:
– Christina Gray, Leader of the Official Opposition and Member of the Legislative Assembly
– Rakhi Pancholi, Member of the Legislative Assembly
– His Worship Amarjeet Sohi, Mayor of Edmonton
– Councillor Keren Tang, City of Edmonton
– Councillor Jo-Anne Wright, City of Edmonton
The event aimed to raise awareness and funds for health initiatives and other charitable activities organized by BAPS Charities. Participants of all ages, from youth to seniors, came together for a common cause.
The William Osler Health System is one of Canada’s largest community healthcare networks, including Brampton Civic Hospital, Etobicoke General Hospital, and the Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness.
The CNIB Foundation, formerly the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, is a non-profit organization that offers innovative programs and advocacy for people affected by blindness.
The walk not only encouraged a healthier lifestyle but also highlighted the significant impact of collective efforts in addressing local needs and challenges.
