BAPS Charities Australia has reaffirmed its commitment to community service by making a generous donation of $5,000 to Backpack4VICKIDS, a Victorian charity dedicated to supporting displaced children. On the afternoon of January 31, 2025, BAPS Charities representatives visited the Backpack4VICKIDS facility to personally deliver the donation and witness the incredible work being done firsthand.
Backpack4VICKIDS, founded by CEO Sally Beard, provides essential items to children who have been displaced due to emergency situations, foster care placements, or family hardship. The organisation ensures that each child receives a carefully curated backpack containing necessities such as clothing, toiletries, and comfort items. Their mission is to restore dignity and self-worth to children in distress, showing them that they are cared for and supported.
During the visit, Sally Beard personally guided BAPS Charities representatives through their operations, offering valuable insights into the meticulous process involved in preparing each backpack. The level of care and attention to detail was truly commendable, from sorting toothbrushes by head size to ensuring each item was age-appropriate for the children receiving them, to packing both winter and summer clothes.
