Research from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) indicates that one in five adults is a caregiver, with women making up 58% of this group. In response to the growing need for caregiver support, BAPS Charities organized a women’s health awareness lecture on “Caring for Loved Ones” in Westborough, MA, on November 23, 2024. The lecture focused on effective methods for caregivers to support their family and friends.
Dr. Himandriben Patel delivered an insightful session, providing an overview of various community resources available to assist caregivers. Topics included home health services, caregiver support, palliative care, and hospice care, all emphasizing their roles in enhancing the quality of life for both patients and their families. Additionally, the lecture covered practical tips on making homes safer for the elderly, ensuring a secure and comfortable living environment.
The event was part of BAPS Charities’ ongoing commitment to promoting health and wellness in the community.
