Hurricane Milton Relief Efforts – October 14, 2024 Update
In response to Hurricane Milton, BAPS Charities volunteers in Orlando and Tampa worked tirelessly to support first responders and those in need.
Orlando:
- 600 volunteer hours contributed by 75 volunteers.
- 450 care packages prepared and distributed to 60 fire stations across Orange, Lake, and Polk Counties, supporting first responders and powerline repair workers.
Tampa:
- 2,500 care packages distributed to those in need.400 meals were served, and 150 cases of water were distributed.
- 200+ volunteer hours contributed between October 12 and October 14, 2024.
State Representative Fentrice Driskell, Tampa City Councilman Luis Viera, and County Commissioner Pat Kemp also joined the BAPS Charities efforts as volunteers, highlighting the collective community spirit during the relief work. Through these initiatives, BAPS Charities continues to stand by communities in times of need, embodying the spirit of compassion and selfless service.
Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts – October 12, 2024 Update
BAPS Charities mobilized teams to deliver essential relief to those affected by Hurricane Helene. Volunteers worked together to package and distribute crucial supplies such as water, blankets, and meals.
- 416 volunteer hours contributed
- 400 care packages prepared and distributed to affected families
- 4,000 gallons of non-potable water provided for essential needs
- 400 cases of drinking water (containing 12 1-liter cartons) and 200 MRE cases (containing 12 meals each) distributed
- 100 blankets provided to those in need
- 15,000 gallons of potable water distributed to ensure access to clean drinking water

Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts – October 12, 2024
In response to Hurricane Helene’s devastation, BAPS Charities launched a relief initiative across Spartanburg, Piedmont, Asheville, and Greenville. From September 29 to October 3, volunteers from Greenville and Charlotte came together to provide vital support to impacted communities. Over these days, 620 hot meal packs and 252 care packages were prepared and distributed, delivering much-needed aid and relief to those in need.
The relief operation involved 358 volunteer hours, with volunteers assisting in various capacities, including meal preparation, distribution, and assembling care packages. These efforts spanned multiple regions, ensuring that communities in the path of the hurricane received timely help.
