Volunteers of BAPS Charities Sydney, Australia have come together to support the wonderful work carried out by the Penrith Women’s Health Centre through a blanket donation this winter.
On Saturday 13 July, volunteers of BAPS Charities visited the Penrith Women’s Health Centre and donated 55 large blankets to assist women and their families through this winter season. Our volunteers met with Kirsty (CEO) and Demi (Manager of the Safety and Empowerment Team) at the Penrith Women’s Health Centre to donate the blankets and understand the work carried out by the Penrith Women’s Health Centre.
The Penrith Women’s Health Centre provides a range of health services such medical and complementary health treatment, counselling services along with assistance to those suffering through domestic and other forms of violence. The Penrith Women’s Health Centre is run by women for women within the Penrith region to ensure all women and non gender conforming people despite their financial and cultural background are able to access their services and support.
BAPS Charities is incredibly grateful to have been given the opportunity to support an organisation that provides so much support to the local community through our winter blanket donation. During our visit to the Penrith Women’s Health Centre, Kirsty and Demi expressed their sincerest thanks to BAPS Charities, stating how the blankets would be a huge help to those doing it tough this winter.
This blanket donation is a true exemplification of BAPS Charities’ commitment to supporting its local community through partnering with wonderful local services who are constantly working to enable change to uplift the lives of those in need.
