On July 14, 2024, BAPS Charities hosted its annual “In the Joy of Others: Walk-Run” in San Francisco, CA, to support the Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco. The Walk brought together local community members to take steps together and engage in selfless service to raise awareness for the club’s youth activities that promote mentorship, skill building, safety and belonging, and community engagement.
This year, nearly 140 community members, including California State Controller Malia Cohen, Vice Consul to the Consul General of India Vivek Anand, and Mayor of South San Francisco James Coleman, joined the effort to support the Boys & Girls Club and their mission to inspire and enable young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive and responsible citizens. The event showcased a broad spectrum of participation, from youth to seniors, united for a common cause.
The event not only provided an opportunity for participants to engage in living a healthier lifestyle but also served as a reminder of the profound impact collective efforts can have in addressing local needs and challenges.
