In December 2023, BAPS Charities held its annual “In the Joy of Others” Holiday food collection drive in Edison, NJ, demonstrating the spirit of giving and community support. The drive saw enthusiastic participation from families, children, youth, and volunteers, who collectively donated more than 630 lbs of vegetarian food. This substantial contribution, comprising over 700 individual items such as pantry staples, canned vegetables, cereals, and biscuits, aimed to support those in need.
The donations were delivered to the MCC Cares Food Pantry on January 29, 2024. Dr. Mark McCormick, the President of Middlesex College, and Ms. Amanda Lyons, the Food Pantry Coordinator, expressed their immense gratitude and joy upon receiving the generous contribution. They highlighted how this donation would significantly alleviate food insecurity among college students, a pressing issue within the community.
Dr. McCormick extended heartfelt thanks to the entire BAPS Charities team, acknowledging their selfless service and the substantial impact of their generosity.
