On Sunday 25th June 2023, BAPS Charities chapters across Kenya carried out a Nationwide Blood donation drive, collecting 703 pints of blood to save lives!
Hospitals across the country require significant quantities of blood for many patients to survive. The country suffers an unfortunate shortage of this crucial blood in blood banks.
Over many years BAPS Charities has supported the Kenya Tissue and Transplant Authority (KTTA) by organizing blood donation drives for the benefit of communities and hospitals throughout the country.
A total of 703 pints of blood were collected by KTTA from the following 10 BAPS Charities chapters across Kenya:
1. Nakuru – 61
2. Kisumu – 93
3. Kericho – 14
4. Kakamega – 52
5. Mombasa – 141
6. Eldoret – 78
7. Kisii – 31
8. Nairobi – 136
9. Thika – 52
10. Bomet – 45
In light of this mammoth achievement, the KTTA personnel commended the tremendous efforts of all BAPS Charities chapters involved.
During the event in Nairobi, KTTA presented BAPS Charities with a Gift of Life award for having a BIG HEART in this cause. BAPS Charities would like to dedicate this award to all the donors who came out in great numbers and are forever grateful for their unwavering support throughout the years.
BAPS Charities’ commitment to supporting the health and wellness of the broader community extends beyond blood donation drives. Almost every month, charitable events are organized to help immediate and extensive communities.
