On Saturday 3rd June 2023, BAPS Charities hosted 70 girls including teachers from Britons community School at the BAPS Mandir Nairobi.
Britons school is based in one of the slum areas of Embakasi, Nairobi. It is run by Mr. Geoffrey and his wife, with the aim of providing education to underprivileged children and seeing them through to university if possible.
BAPS Charities had previously visited the school a year ago in June 2022. Donation of supplies and clothes were provided at the time, supporting the immediate needs of the students and teachers – read the article here
The trip was to provide the students a fun day experiencing a different culture and enjoy delicious food. The girls were guided through the traditional Indian architecture, the informative exhibition titled Glorious India, and thereafter entertained with an inspirational video presentation.
After a scrumptious lunch, all the students and teachers were given farewell gifts as well as juices and biscuits. The headmaster thanked BAPS Charities for hosting them for the day, mentioning they had all thoroughly enjoyed the enlightening exhibition, inspirational video, delicious lunch, and engaging with the BAPS Charities volunteers.
