On Sunday 5th June 2022, BAPS Charities chapters across Kenya took part in a Nationwide Blood donation drive, collecting 724 pints of blood to save lives!
Hospitals across the country require significant quantities of blood for many patients to survive. Unfortunately the country currently suffers from a shortage of this crucial blood in blood banks.
BAPS Charities has over many years supported the Kenya National Blood Transfusion Service (KNBTS) by organizing blood donation drives for the benefit of communities and hospitals throughout the country.
This particular blood drive was carried out in 8 centres across Kenya in celebration of the birth centenary of the founder of BAPS Charities worldwide – H.H. Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
A total of 724 pints of blood were collected by KNBTS from the following BAPS Charities chapters:
1. Eldoret- 131
2. Kakamega- 54
3. Kericho- 40
4. Kisii -26
5. Kisumu – 81
6. Mombasa- 101
7. Nairobi- 215
8. Nakuru -76
BAPS Charities would like to thank the donors, who were the heart of the drive and are forever grateful for their unwavering support throughout the years.
In light of this mammoth achievement, the KNBTS personnel commended the tremendous efforts of all BAPS Charities chapters involved in the drive.
BAPS Charities’ commitment to supporting the health and wellness of the broader community extends beyond blood donation drives. Every month charitable events are organised to help immediate and extensive communities.
