Influenza (“flu”) is a contagious disease that can be serious. Every year, millions of people get sick, hundreds of thousands are hospitalized, and thousands to ten of thousands of people die from flu. In 2018-19, the United States had 35.5 million Influenza cases, with nearly 500,000 hospitalizations and 34,200 deaths attributed to the virus. Complicating the issue, in the last two year is that many of the symptoms of Influenza are like COVID1-19 infection and can remain asymptomatic for a while. To mitigate this deadly confluence, BAPS Charities launched an immunization campaign maintaining public safety in mind with the use of PPE, and a strict social distancing policy.
