The COVID-19 pandemic has gripped the world for over a year. In the past two weeks, India especially has experienced a surge in infections and daily deaths. Its hospitals are under tremendous pressure from shortages of oxygen. Many are losing their lives to this deadly virus due to a simple shortage of vital oxygen support.
On 30th April 2021, BAPS Charities across Africa began raising funds to procure and dispatch oxygen concentrators to India. Within a week, BAPS Charities Africa sent 73 oxygen concentrators from Uganda and 50 oxygen concentrators from Kenya. The immense efforts of volunteers, donors and supporters will ensure patients in need receive the vital oxygen support they require.
As the situation persists, we encourage donors to support in any capacity they can. This enables BAPS Charities Uganda to continue their efforts both locally in Africa and wherever support may be required globally.
