BAPS Charities volunteers donated over 100 food parcels a local church in Johannesburg, South Africa. The Christway Church in Turfontein, south of Johannesburg, provide meals to neglected and vulnerable children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Volunteers donated food hampers comprising of milk, sugar, rice, salt, fruit, tin food and bottled water. Bulk food was also donated in the form of mealie meal, salt, porridge and semolina.
The national lockdown has left thousands of vulnerable and neglected children at risk of not receiving food on a daily basis. The Gauteng provincial government receives on average 7000 requests daily for food to be delivered to people across the province. We are appreciative of the public’s support of our efforts to alleviate some of the suffering endured by young and old during this national crisis and remain committed to providing more support in the weeks and months to come.
