The volunteers of BAPS Charities organized a food drive at the Al Furqan Islamic Center, which is a home and school for young disabled children.
The home was founded in 2011 by Mr. Hamisi Omari, who is currently the care taker of the orphanage. 50 children reside in the home, whose age groups range from 3 to 12 years. In addition to housing, the orphanage provides the children with education in a nearby school. The schooling is free for all the orphans, because their poor backgrounds.
The volunteers handed a gift packet containing biscuits, stationary, wafers, chocolates, crisps and candies to every child. Foodstuffs were handed over to the kitchen volunteers, Mr. Rajabu Mbaraka and Mr. Nasoro Bori by senior volunteers.
