North American Activities Meeting 2015

Over 130 BAPS Charities volunteers from across North America attended the BAPS Charities North American Activities Meeting on October 2nd and 3rd in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The annual meeting centered on a critical assessment of last year’s successes and challenges, and participants worked together to develop enhanced planning strategies for the year ahead. During the meeting they attended workshops, discussed areas for improvement in focus groups, and became better acquainted with each other through team-building exercises.

BAPS Charities strives to advance its mission both effectively and sustainably over time, and the North America Activities Meeting is a critical part of that goal. Over the course of the two-day meeting, participants exchanged ideas on how to further engage BAPS Charities volunteers in building closer, more resilient communities around the country. Additionally, participants gained a better understanding of BAPS Charities’ philanthropic goals for the year ahead through presentations and reporting sessions held by their peers.

In reviewing all of the activity over the past year to map its future strategic direction, the attendees assessed each part of BAPS Charities’ mission areas and its progress. Working together, teams explored ways to help advance BAPS Charities activities at the local levels in an effort to serve communities more efficiently. From annual health fairs to walkathons, logistical strengths and weaknesses were both identified and addressed among participants, giving them the tools to help local volunteers focus on the overarching goals of the project. Overall the meeting was both educational and inspiring, volunteers left feeling a renewed sense of commitment to serve.
