BAPS Charities held a North American Activities Meeting from September 23-24, 2011. Held in Pigeon Forge, TN, the meeting aimed to review BAPS Charities successes and challenges faced in 2011 and to plan for events in 2012. It proved to not only be a source of motivation but also a medium for collaboration for the over 50 volunteer delegates from across North America who dedicated their time to attend the meeting. Over the course of the two days, participants attended planning meetings, discussed issues in focus groups, and became better acquainted with their respective team members through team-building activities. In addition to strengthening their own teams, delegates also met with other members who shared a similar passion and vision for developing and improving the wellness of their local communities.
BAPS Charities conducted numerous activities nationwide in 2011. As part of their responsibilities, participants at the meeting reviewed the impact of these events and discussed opportunities to improve them to benefit a wider audience in 2012. They presented mock scenarios to analyze various situations and came up with a set of solutions that could be replicated by other members across the nation. In addition, other experienced BAPS Charities’ volunteers conducted lectures and workshops to promote personal development among the participants. Overall, the event was a success and had a lasting influence on the participants, which will be seen through the BAPS Charities events carried out in 2012.
