On Saturday, 18 April 2015 BAPS Charities New Zealand, organized a walkathon to raise funds in support of the KidsCan NZ. This event was held at Auckland’s greenest spot – Cornwall Park (also, the site of popular tourist landmark, One Tree Hill domain). KidsCan NZ co-operates in providing food, clothing and basic health care in schools, to enable all disadvantaged NZ children to reach their potential.
A fun event for everyone – young and old, the Walkathon is now a regular annual event much awaited and anticipated by one and all, and enjoyed by the entire community. While the focus is on health and fitness in a fun way, the central point is to raise funds for a good cause in “The Spirit of Service” – the theme of Walkathon 2015.
The highlight of Walkathon 2015 was that despite the rainy weather, around 300 participants took part in the event by not letting the wet weather dampen their “Spirit of Service”. The walk was followed by snacks and refreshments at the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir.
