Arthritis is the most common cause of disability worldwide, limiting the activities of millions of people. According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an estimated 46 million adults in the United States reported being told by a doctor that they have some form of arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, lupus, or fibromyalgia.
BAPS Charities organized a Health Awareness Lecture on Arthritis Care at over 50 centers in North America where health care professionals gave a presentation in English and Gujarati language. The presentation gave an overview of Arthritis, its conditions, diagnosis, treatment and some helpful tips. The health lecture was followed by a question and answer session.
In 2009 supporting President Obama’ service initiative, “United We Serve”, BAPS Charities organized 7 health awareness lectures benefiting over 90,000 participants. The topics of the presentation were: Cancer Prevention, Swine Flu prevention, Dental Care, Pranayam, Pure Vegetarian Nutrition, and Arthritis Care.
