BAPS Charities organized a food drive at the Al Furqan Islamic Center, which is a home and school for young disabled children.The home was founded in 2011 by Mr. Hamisi Omari, who is currently the care taker of the orphanage. The orphanage is located in the Chanika area, which is approximately 30 kilometers from Dar es Salaam. 50 children reside in the home, whose age groups range from 3 to 12 years. In addition to housing, the orphanage provide the children with education in a nearby school. The schooling is free for all of the children.
Once all the goods were off-loaded from the pick-up, the volunteers handed a gift packet containing biscuits, wafers, chocolates, crisps and candies to every child. The remaining foodstuffs were handed over to the caretakers.

- 10 kg salt
- 30 kg beans
- 20 liters of cooking oil
- 50 kg of maize flour
